A canoe on a river in the Philippines. The caption written on the photo album page is incorrect. A notation on the rear of the photo print says
"around city of San Fernando," which is on Luzon, not Leyte. The squadron did not go to Luzon until 1945.

Capitol building of the city of Guagua, Philippines, 1945. Guagua is near San Fernando.
The building appears damaged, probably set on fire by the departing Japanese.

New Asia Restaurant in San Fernando, Philippines, 1945.

A tank in San Fernando, Philippines, 1945.

Water buffalo (carabao?) in the road in San Fernando, Philippines, 1945.
[The photo defect was apparently on the original negative.]

The main road in San Fernando, Philippines, 1945.
[The photo defect was apparently on the original negative.]

Yanks Café - probably newly renamed after U.S. forces drove out the Japs - and shops in San Fernando, Philippines. This is just to the left of the
New Asia Restaurant (photo above). The date in the photo album caption is wrong, since the squadron did not reach San Fernando until 1945.
The building on the left appears to be flying the Stars and Stripes from the roof.

The provincial capitol building of Leyte, Philippines.

Earl on an amphibian biplane, possibly a Supermarine Walrus (originally called Supermarine Seagull V).
