    Sept. 20, 1943

Hello Ma:
Well, I haven't much to say in this letter. Outside the tent, some of the boys are feeding a baby kangaroo with a milk bottle and nipple. I took three pictures of it. I'll send them to you just as soon as I can manage to get the roll developed. My squadron has in the way of pets a kangaroo, a baby lamb, a dog, cat, a parrot, and a cockatoo (bird). We used to have a duck too. I mailed a Yank magazine to you the other day. Also, some souvenirs from Australia. I haven't yet heard any more about O.C.S. since my last letter to you. Enclosed are a few Newsmaps, which might be good to keep for future reference. Well, that's all for just now -
Earl
