PARKERSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA: A VINTAGE PORTRAIT
PARK PLACE
Park Place in 1909
Park Place (seen here, looking west, around the turn of the century) was a tree-lined
residential section located just off Garfield Avenue, near Eighth Street, not
far from the Ohio River. The last buildings were torn down in the early
1970s to make room for expansion of Camdem-Clark Hospital.
This is the same photo as the one above it, but the carriage has been removed and a roadster added.
Postcard publishers commonly made these changes to stay timely.

The buildings were torn down not long afterward.
