LEANING
WORDS & MUSIC: Earl P. Reinhalter
I. when we lean upon each other
'cause we could not stand alone,
then I blame you
and you blame me
for not being made of stone.
II. on the street, we're homeless beggars.
we ask each other for a dime.
and then we curse and cry
and walk right by
an old "help wanted" sign.
BRIDGE: I blame you, you blame me,
I blame you, you blame me.
I look to you looking at me
looking to you looking to me.
I blame you and you blame me.
for not being made of stone.
III. but every day, I'm feeling stronger.
I can be my own best friend.
and then when I'm okay,
and when you're okay,
we can try again.
