NUCLEAR WINTER

WORDS & MUSIC:   Earl P. Reinhalter

             I. freeze now or freeze later.
                 world war: final theatre.
                 check your antifreeze,
                 get your skates and skis.
now or later we will freeze.
                 tell the headline printers
                 and the weathermen
                 at all the press centers:
                 day and month,
                 nuclear winter.

            II. we have enough warheads
so everyone alive can be dead.
but there are babies coming due,
                 and we must build anew
so we can kill them, too.
                 another threat is hurled.
                 the generals
                 have their flags unfurled.
                 but it's not war,
it's the end of the world.

III. now if I want to kill myself, (bang, bang)
(partial I can do it by myself. (with gas)
verse) I don't need atomic help.
                 tell the undertakers,
                 tell the movers
                 and the shakers:
                 blessed
                 are the peacemakers.

ENDING: freeze now or freeze later (8 times)
