OCEAN
WORDS & MUSIC: Earl P. Reinhalter
I. the ocean is breathing.
her stomach is rising and falling and rising.
the water is dreaming
of moo cows in summer,
of moo cows in summer.
II. the wind blows around her.
she's tossing and turning and tossing and turning.
her breathing is faster
from slaughterhouse visions
of slaughterhouse visions.
III. smooth as a window,
silent and still as a star in the sky,
a haven for tall ships:
nothing is threatened,
but nothing is moving.
