THE VANDAL
WORDS & MUSIC: Earl P. Reinhalter
I. all around the campfire, sacred sand
paints the multicolor face of god.
the warriors will dance tonight,
the warriors will dance tonight.
II. the vandal comes and stirs up all the sand.
if he's not killed, a meteor will come
to kill them all, to kill them all.
a meteor will kill them all.
III. the vandal says he'll call if one should fall.
he'll sound the alarm. the executioner
will come. the executioner
will come, will come, will come.
IV. the vandal falls asleep. the heavens fall.
the vandal tells the chief: "I think this meteor
is meant for someone else,"
he says, "it's meant for someone else."
V. to save us all, the guilty man must die.
the vandal volunteers to help them find
the fugitive so they can stop
the meteor from falling down.
VI. the vandal finds the fugitive at last.
he points, the man points back. it's his reflection
in the glass. his own reflection
has been frozen in the glass.
