TWO SEPARATE INDIVIDUALS
WORDS & MUSIC: Earl P. Reinhalter
I. two separate individuals
who sometimes overlap,
your blood runs through my heart.
you're in my mind.
if I cut you off, I die;
if I poison you, I grow ill;
if I'm holding on too tight,
I can't breathe,
can't breathe.
II. two separate individuals
who sometimes disagree...
how can you be so distant
here with me?
I see a strange expression
where your face used to be.
the part of you I love
is his today,
today.
BRIDGE: once I thought we were one.
you said you thought so, too.
it seems so long ago.
was it true?
you loved me for a season,
or just a week or two;
right now it seems like minutes...
me and you.
ENDING: sometimes you hear it spoken:
"two bodies with one mind."
our love was of that kind
at one time.
two separate individuals,
that's all we are today.
two separate individuals,
that's all we are today.
two separate individuals,
that's all we are today.
two separate individuals,
that's all we are today.
that's all we are today.
