YOUR EYES
WORDS & MUSIC: Earl P. Reinhalter
I. what I see in your eyes
is a woman
who lives with what she's got
and dies for what she's not;
not a blazing western forest,
no atomic chain reaction,
but a soft and silent furnace
with hair of golden flaxen.
II. what I see in your eyes
is a heaven
where falsehood still exists
to make the truth stand out;
not a shelter for conformists
nor asylum for the solemn,
but a daredevil sky within us
that stands without a column,
where we barnstorm
spring through autumn.
III. what I see in your eyes
is forever:
waiting for today,
a fading far away
where we barnstorm
spring through autumn.
