RAY CAMPI at the PALOMINO 12-28-93 |
|
By the mid-Nineties, the Palomino was on its last legs. This may have been the last time Ray ever played there. The legendary nightclub, which once hosted shows by everyone from Hank Williams to Neil Young, is now closed.
This was one of the rare times Ray did not play his trademark upright bass, opting instead for guitar. As usual for a Ronnie Mack's Barn Dance show, Ray was backed by the Ronnie and the Barn Dance Band. Doris Paxton (substituting for Paul Marshall) played electric bass.
