BAS CLAS CHASING A MAD DOG Here are six songs by a great band from Lafayette, Louisiana. "Chasing A Mad Dog" was the A-side of their 1977 single.

PHYSICAL WORLD Both sides of their 1981 single got a lot of regional airplay. Legendary producer John Hammond wanted to produce the band but couldn't get any labels interested.

ALLONS DANSER In search of national recognition, Bas Clas relocated to Atlanta for a few years. Here are three songs from their 1988 demo. "Allons Danser" highlights their Cajun roots.

JACKIE LEE COCHRAN HUNGRY HILL An Elvis-type country song from the rockabilly singer, who passed away in 1998.

RON COLEMAN SHADOWS IN THE MOONLIGHT Nice mid-tempo country song. Vocal harmony by Rosie Flores.

HONKY TONK FEVER Rockin' country barn-burner that Ron wrote with Rick Danko of The Band. Rosie Flores sings harmony.

LAST TEAR Aynee Osborn joins Ron for this country duet.

SOMEBODY LOSES, SOMEBODY WINS A Coleman song that Rosie Flores covered for her first solo album on Reprise (later reissued by Rounder). Here, Ron sings lead and Aynee Osborn does the harmony vocal.

ESPERANZA TORNA A SURRIENTO Classic love song performed by Mexican "Zarzuela" singer Esperanza, who was popular in the 40s and 50s. She passed away in December 1998.

FARMER TAN REAL TEENAGERS If Jimmie Dale Gilmore jammed with CCR, it might sound like Farmer Tan. Here are two of my favorite songs from the band's one and only CD.
